When we started SoHo Sounds, the goal was simple: help independent artists get their music heard with the friendliest prices we could operate with.
Over the years, we've had the privilege of working with thousands of artists across virtually every genre. Together, our campaigns have helped generate well over 100 million Spotify streams.
As the company has grown, one thing has become increasingly clear.
The projects we're most passionate about, the artists we're spending the most time with, and the community we've naturally become a part of all point in the same direction: electronic + dance music.
From house to disco, melodic to afro, deep house to dubstep , tech to d&b - we've found ourselves investing more time, more resources and more creativity into this space than ever before.
That's why, beginning July 7th, SoHo Sounds will officially specialize in Electronic & Dance Music.
To all of the incredible artists from other genres who have trusted us over the years - we are not abandoning you!
While our primary focus is now electronic music, we'll continue to work with a limited number of artists in select non-electronic genres on a case-by-case basis. If your music falls outside of electronic music, you're still welcome to submit it for review through our application page. SUBMIT HERE
This isn't because we believe electronic music is "better" than any other genre. It's because we believe that the best companies become known for doing one thing exceptionally well.
Rather than trying to be everything to everyone, we'd rather become the company artists immediately think of when they need help growing an electronic music release.
This shift also allows us to invest more into the things that matter most:
Working with more & higher-quality electronic playlists.
Building stronger relationships within the electronic music community.
Creating better marketing tools and educational resources.
Continuing to improve the campaigns we provide to our artists.
This isn't the end of a chapter.
It's the beginning of a much more focused one.
We're incredibly excited about what's ahead, and we can't wait to continue building one of the most trusted communities in electronic music.
